| 10/30/2011 | vs West County Tigers | The West County Tigers arrived at Giorgi Park Sunday, October 30th for the Healdsburg Bulldog's last season game. It was a warm fall day that had many football highlights including a fun Halloween half-time routine from the entire Bulldog cheer squad!
Mitey Mites:
The Mitey Mites wrapped up their regular season with a strong defensive effort this past Sunday at Giorgi Park. The defense had one of its best games of the season before succombing to a gritty West County Tiger team 19-0. Leading the Dogs on defense was Dylan Hayman, who continued his outstanding season by making multiple tackles from his middle linebacker slot. Also making be defensive plays were Joe and John Headley, and Ryan Hesz spent a lot of time in the West County backfield disrupting their offense. The Mitey Mites look to finish the season strong with a Mitey Mite Bowl game in two weeks. The final score was Healdsburg Bulldogs 0 and West County 19.
Jr PeeWees:
The Jr PeeWees ended their 2011 seaspm with a very exciting game against the West County Tigers! West County struck first with a long drive capping it off with a TD but the defense stepped up denying West County the extra point which turned out to be the deciding factor. Brendan Loftus', electrifying 55 yard punt return for a TD provided the 6 to tie the game. The Offensive line got a great push for Jaimie Lemus on the point after to give us a 1 point lead. Orion Johnson carried the ball for some good yardage running behind Hunter T. and Chris Hall. Jackson Hernandez and Porter Tett opened up some running lanes up the middle and provided some key blocks late in the game to keep the offense and the clock moving allowing the Bulldogs to pick up critical first downs to end the game. Porter Tett and Jaime Lemus stopped the Tiger's offense in its tracks. Jordan Ramirez broke through the Tiger's offensive line to sack the quarterback numerous times! Ultimately, the Bulldogs won their first game of the season with a final score of the Bulldogs 7 and West County 6. The Jr PeeWees chose Porter Tett, Brendan Loftus, Saul Garcia, Jaime Lemus, Jordan Ramirez and Jackson Hernandez as their 2011 Allstars. The alternate Allstars are George Grant and Chris Hall.
PeeWees:
The PeeWees had their hands full from the beginning of the game against West County. The Tigers scored two TDs in the first quarter alone! It was going to be a long battle for the Bulldogs! Quarterback Ethan Wright made multiple completions throughout the game to Alex DiJorio. Carlos Lemus, Damian Chesmore and Blake Monahan had some great runs down the field only to be stopped by the Tiger's defense! At the half the Bulldogs were down 13 to zero. It was a do or die second half and the Bulldogs were able to score in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately the clock ran out of time and our Bulldogs lost the final game of the season with a score of 7 to 32 West County. The 2011 PeeWee Allstars include Eddie Smith, Jordan Lopez, Jaron Talley, John Grant, Jacob Numainville and Blake Monahan. The PeeWee Allstar Alternates are Gary Munsell and Ethan Wright.
Jr Midgets:
Score Bulldogs 20 Tigers 34. The 2011 Jr Midget Allstars are Eli Kroger, Bryant Herrguth, Ricky Villagomez, Anthony Rea, Danny Pardo, Lucas Campos. The Jr Midget Allstar Alternates are Nathan and Daniel Torres.
Midgets:
This final game for the Bulldog Midgets proved to be the most exciting of the day! The first quarter ended with a tie of 0-0. The Bulldogs came out in the second quarter hungry looking to get on the board quickly. A power running game behind the offensive line lead by Jason Giron and Sam Swan got the Dogs within striking distance only to have the ball turn over due to a fumble. The Tigers capitalized on the mistake with a TD to end the second quarter with at Tiger score of 8 and the Bulldogs 0. The second half was another epic battle of defenses, the Bulldogs lead by fantastic inside linebacker play of Eric Palmer and Angel Alfaro proved to be the difference maker. The Tigers had the ball with a 1st and goal from the Bulldog 7 yared line with the opportunity to take a 2 TD lead, but Palmer and Alfaro teamed up with outside line backers, Mike Lopez and Marc Sevilla to force the Tigers to turn over the ball on the 6 yard line. There were power runs down the field by Angel Alfaro, Mike Lopez, Marc Sevilla along with laser like accuracy passes to Max Williams and Gabe Torres to end with a TD and a score of 6 to 8. With 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter Angel Alfaro finds Gabe Torres in the end zone and another TD and a score with the Bulldogs leading 12-8. The Tigers attempted a hail mary pass only to be smacked down by a pack of Bulldogs, Sam Hodes, Max Williams, Gabe Torres and Gabriel Segobiano. The clock ran out and the score stood with the Bulldogs winning 12 to 8. The 2011 Midget Allstar pickes are Angel Alfaro, Mark Sevilla,Sam Swan, Mike Lopez, and Jason Giron. The Midget Allstar Alternates are Gabriel Segobiano and Connor Schumacher.
The Bulldog parents and coaches are so proud of all the players and cheerleaders!

| 10/23/2011 | at Sonoma Dragons | It was an exciting day of football for the Healdsburg Bulldogs on Sunday, October 23rd. The Bulldogs traveled to Sonoma to face off the Dragons on what was considered an unseasonably hot day!
Mitey Mites:
The Bulldog Mitey Mite team went out with a bang! The offense had a fantastic day as Justin Webb and Landon Estrela had multiple touch downs in a great effort against the Dragons. Huge holes were opened up by offensive linemen Diego Carrillo and Trevor Love, while Jude Kemp and Hayden Quilty provided excellent downfield blocking. On defense, Ian Plum ran hard to try and stop the Dragon offense. The heat was on and the Bulldog Mitey Mites scored a TD for almost every Sonoma TD. The game had interesting calls from the referees and several passionate Bulldog parents on the sidelines cheering for the players! Although the Mitey Mites were able to score 48 points it wasn't enough to overcome the Sonoma Dragon offense. The final score was Bulldogs 48 and Sonoma 69.
JPW:
the JPeeWee team played another tough game in Sonoma. Jaime Lemus came out in the second half and scored the first TD of the season on a 55 yard kick off return. Jordan Guerra had strong pass coverage in the safety position and assisted in a TD saving tackle. Lorenzo Leon at defensive end had multiple tackles, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Chris Hall on the defensive line had strong tackles against the inside run. It was a super exciting game and the kids played well in the heat. Their coaches were very proud of each of them for their tenacity. In the end though, the Bulldogs lost 28-6 to the Dragons.
PW:
The Bulldog PeeWee team started an exciting game with a TD by Carlos Lemus in the first quarter. The PeeWees played tough football with Eddie Smith, Damian Chesmore and Blake Monahan on both offense and defense. Eddie Smith scored a TD only to have it taken back due to penalties called against the Bulldogs. Jacob Numainville caught a pass from QB Ethan Wright to help in the march for another TD. Damian Chesmore scores a TD and Blake Monahan has a successful field goal for an extra two points. The offensive line was helped with great efforts by Kurt Holz, who clogged the middle to stop the Dragon defense. The PeeWee defense stopped the Dragons in their tracks with Gary Munsell as hard hitting corner back. Dalton Quilty and Eddie Smith had tremendous tackles as well. Alex DiJorio was able to intercept the ball and make a dash for a TD. In the end it was the Bulldog PeeWees that prevailed against the Dragons with a score of 27-0.
Jr Midgets:
The score was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter but in the second quarter Anthony Rea had two rushing TD's. Before the end of the first half, Ricky Villagomez picked off the ball and ran it back for a Bulldog TD to make it 20-0. The second half was lead by some nice runs from the QB, Lucas Campos and the powerful running of Brian Herrguth, who broke a 55 yard run to score another Bulldog TD to make the score 26-0. The Sonoma Dragons were no match for the Bulldog defense who did not allow any points the entire game. All sixteen players that suited up for this game has a part in this victory, including Eli Kroger who played with a broken hand. Final score was Bulldogs 26 and Dragons 0.
Midgets:
The Healdsburg Midgets had a tough game against Sonoma this week. Mark Sevilla scored the only TD of the game in the first quarter. Then the battle began! The defensive line had Jason Giron, Sam Swan and Rein Messerli working hard at trying to stop Sonoma from scoring. The final score was Bulldogs 6 and Dragons 34. | |
| 10/15/2011 | at Dixon Rams | The Healdsburg Bulldogs had a football and cheer filled weekend! First off, The Bulldog Cheerleaders competed in the annual North Bay Youth Football and Cheer (NBYFC) Cheer competition on Saturday, Oct 15th. Our one and only little mascot, Brianna McNulty wowed the crowd with her individual cheer and dance! Then our Mitey Mite squad of Lizet Barrera, Estrellia Hermosillo, Laurel Heaney, Ashley Laron, Ruby Murphy, Valerie Suazo, Avory Terhune, Krysta Wanzer and Maci Wilkinson brought our home fans on their feet with their performance!
Next up was the Bulldog Jr PeeWee cheerleaders and they did not disappoint! Nenna Carr, Madison Guerra, Kashia Holz, Kyndel Jenkins, Thalia Matos, Lily McGowan, Ella McMinn, Grace McNulty, Makenna McNulty, Aleah Molina, Rayne Reese, Jocelyn Sanches-Lemos, Jocelyn Torres, Noelle Turko and Brianna Williams brought home a 3rd place trophy! This group of girls showed real perseverance and strength to complete their cheer performance!
Finally, the Bulldog PeeWee squad completed a great day with a 2nd place trophy! The PeeWee squad included Alexa Baldwin, Maya Barney, Chela Carr, America Osorio, Chloe Turko, Lola Plum, Amy Rodgers, Jasmine Rodriquez, Crystal Williams, Mariana Zaragoza and Mascot, Victoria Suazo. The Bulldogs are so proud of the Cheerleaders...great job girls!
The Bulldog football teams traveled to Dixon to play the Rams on Sunday, Oct 16th!
The Mitey Mite team came to play with a strong defense and an exciting offense! The first quarter started off with #74 Landon Estrela scoring what would be the only touchdown for the Bulldogs! Dylan Hayman, Ian Plum and Christian Jernigan as the defensive line helped slow the Dixon Rams offense. Justin Webb and Jude Kemp did their best to work the football back over the goal line! Ultimately, in the 3rd quarter of the game the Dixon Rams put our Bulldog Mitey Mites into scrimmage with a final score of Healdsburg 6 and Dixon 34.
The Bulldog Jr PeeWee team showed up with their defense on! Throughout the game #12 Brendan Loftus, #14 Gabriel Moore, #88 Hunter Terhune continued to stop the Dixon Rams offense. Hunter Terhune recovered one of several fumbles in the game and Jaime Lemus stopped Dixon from crossing the goal line! Alex Johnson at nose guard for the Bulldog defense put good pressure on Dixon’s quarterback forcing some bad throws. Shane Scalese at middle linebacker stuffed the run up the middle and applied strong pressure on the quarterback as well. Orion Johnson had an awesome interception and 15 yard return. It was a rough game but the Jr. Peewee’s played tough!
In the end the Rams won the Bulldogs with a final score of Healdsburg 0 and Dixon 18.
The Bulldog PeeWee Team came into game 9 with a new coaching staff and a new attitude for the game! The game was filled with turn overs on downs and exciting hand offs on offense. Ethan Wright did an sly hand off to Damian Chesmore and then the ball was handed off to Jacob Numainville for a great run towards a first down. Carlos Lemus, Colton Soderling, Juan Anzures and Blake Monahan worked double time to stop Dixon. In the end Dixon beat the Bulldogs with a score of Healdsburg 0 and Dixon 20!
The final score for the Jr Midget team was Healdsburg 0 and Dixon 32.
The Bulldog Midget team played hard and won todays battle against the Dixon Rams!!
The opening kickoff of the game was recovered by Angel Alfaro who rushed for 40 yards on this, the first play of the game. The very next on- side kick was again, recovered by Angel and this time carried in for a touchdown. Gabe Torres caught a deflected pass, and ran it in for a touchdown. Mike Lopez rushed the ball into the end zone and had his first touchdown of the year. Toward the end of the game, defense’s Gabe Segobiano recovered a fumble and was able to help the Bulldogs run the clock out for a final win at 24-16. | |
| 10/02/2011 | vs Rohnert Park Warriors | Mitey Mites:
The Mitey Mites played a very tough Rohnert Park team. It was a battle with defensive standout plays by Landon Estrela, Dylan Widick and Benjamin Tapia. On the offensive side for the Bulldogs, they had Manuel Garcia and Myles Sway doing a great job of fighting the Warrior defense. The kids played with heart, but in the end, the Bulldogs lost 0-32 against the Warriors.
JrPeeWee:
The JrPeeWees had quite a battle waiting for them with the Rohnert Park Warriors. Both sides of the Bulldog team held strong with Porter Tett, Octavio Vega and Matthew Ferrari. Jamie Lemus, Saul Garcia and Brendan Loftus did their very best to break through the Warrior defense but to no avail. The Warriors won with a score of 28-0 against the Bulldogs.
PeeWee:
The PeeWee battle was just as tough as the others. The PeeWee's Ethan Wright had a great tackle along with Jacob Numainville, Jesse Reese, and Eddie Smith. Colton Soderling had a fantastic run for a touchdown after the Warriors had taken us to scrimmage in the beginning of the second quarter. The offense ran several attempts for the goal line with Carlos Lemus and Ethan Wright. The final score was Warriors 32 and the Bulldogs 0.
JrMidgets:
This was a great nail bitter game against the RP Warriors. The Bulldogs stunned an undefeated Warriors team with two early touchdowns. This game was filled with turnovers, fumbles, incomplete and intercepted passes, and many penalties. Lucas Campos played tough as quarterback and was able to connect with receiver Ricky Villagomez and Anthony Rea. Daniel Pardo did his best to defend the ball and take out the Warrior's line. The most unexpected moment was a fumble made by the Warriors on the line of scrimmage less than 20 yards from the Bulldog goal line and turned it into a touch down for the Bulldogs by Ricky Villagomez. The Warriors came back with a vengence and ultimately won the game with a score of 32 Warriors and 24 Bulldogs.
Midget:
The Bulldog Midget team played tough as well but the Warriors were ready for battle. There was hard hitting by Max Williams, Eric Palmer, Michael Lopez and Sam Swan. Angel Alfaro fought hard as quarterback and ultimately suffered a rolled ankle and was out the last few downs of the game. The Warriors took the Bulldogs into scrimmage and the final score was the Warriors 34 and the Bulldogs 0. | |
| 09/25/2011 | vs Ukiah Lions | On Sunday, September 25th the Healdsburg Bulldogs welcomed the Ukiah Lions in what was to be a tough day of football.
MM: The Mighty Mites had a great first half ending tied 7-7. Offense had some super individuals. Brian Whiteley and Myles Swan played great. On our defense, Ryder Monahan and Simon Trask stopped Ukiah from running the score up. After this battle Ukiah won 27-7.
JPW: The Jr PeeWee team had some great plays on offense and defense. On the defense, Garret Robertson played well at quarter back. Garret had some great runs, along with a few quarter back keepers. On the defense, Emilio Campos had some outstanding tackles on the edge and did a great job of shutting down the corner. Also, Sam Nuno played fantastic on defense. He managed to stuff most runs up the middle. The end score: Healdsburg 0 Ukiah 14
PW: the PeeWee team started out strong with the first march down the field but ended with no score. Ukiah's offense came back and quickly took control over the game. Jaron Talley played tough and made some great runs on offense. Kurt Holz took a hard hit when receiving the kick off but rebounded and was ready to play. Jacob Numainville played tough on offense and defense. Unfortunately, Ukiah dominated after the first quarter to end the game with the win of 26-0.
JM: The Jr Midgets played another exciting game, against the Lions. The Bulldog offense played tough but could not get the ball into the inzone. Sam Williams had an incredible run down the field to stop the Lions from scoring at the goal line. Ricky Villagomez, Anthony Rea, and Daniel Pardo worked hard to try and get the ball past the goal line but to no avail. The ending score: Healdsburg 0 Ukiah 6.
M: The first touch down in the game was scored by Angel Alfaro. He had a 5 yard run to make it 7-0. The offense then started to take control of the game. As the Midgets approached half time the score was 14-7- Healdsburg. Angel Alfaro hooked up with Eric Palmer for a touch down. Mark Sevilla had a great rush for a touch down also. The offense played a stellar game. On the Midget defense, Sam Swan and Mike Lopez worked hard to keep Ukiah from scoring. Max Williams on defense had a key interception. This was a great game for the Healdsburg Midget team. The final score: Healdsburg 26 Ukiah 14.
A big Thank you to the Bulldog Cheerleaders who gathered donations for a family in need in Ukiah. They smiled and cheered and brought the spirit of kindness and charity to a whole new level. Thank you Bulldog families who opened their hearts and wallets in support of the Bartley Family as well. | |
| 09/11/2011 | at San Marin | Mitey-Mites: The Healdsburg Mitey Mites hung tough against a very solid San Marin squad. Jarrod Lawrence and Brett Delfino did a great job on the offisive line, as did Ryder Monahan and Spencer Rodgers on the defensive line. Score: Healdsburg 6 vs San Marin 32.
Jr PeeWee: Saul Garcia had great kick off returns and had a good day playing wide receiver. Jordan Ramirez put pressure on San Marin's quarterback and had some key tackles on the defense. Chris Hall anchored the defense, stopping San Marin from running up the middle. Score: Healdsburg 10 vs San Marin 42.
Pee Wee: For the second week in a row the Bulldog PeeWee team went into double overtime to end up with a tie of 20-20 against San Marin. Blake Monahan, Carlos Lemus, and Damian Chesmore played aggressively on offense and defense. It was a hard hitting game with several nail biting moments.
JrMidget: The Healdsburg defense held strong again as usual. Ricky Villagomez caught a pass from quarterback Danny Pardo for a touchdown, followed by a Pardo kick for the extra point. Anthony Rea had a defensive interception. Overall, the offensive line had a great day. Score: Healdsburg 8 vs San Marin 6
Midget: The Bulldog Midget team was taken into scrimmage by San Marin during Sunday's game to fall by a big margin.
